Where and when
Elbow River Casino sits at 218 18 Avenue SE, Calgary, T2G 1L1. The venue's homepage places it at the corner of 17th Avenue S and Macleod Trail, and describes it as part of the 17th Avenue district known as the Red Mile.
According to the casino's gaming page, the floor is open seven days a week from 9:30 AM to 3:00 AM, and the doors open at 9:30 AM. The poker room keeps its own hours. It is open Sunday to Wednesday from 10 AM to 3 AM, and 24 hours Thursday to Saturday.
The venue does not publish separate hours for table games, and it does not list holiday hours. If live tables are the reason for an early visit, confirm with the casino first. A weekday morning or a lunch hour is the simplest daytime window: the doors are already open, and the poker room follows at 10. The morning hours page sets these times alongside the other venues.
Getting in
Gambling in Alberta is for adults 18 and over. Under AGLC's casino rules, staff must check government-issued photo ID for anyone who appears to be under 25. Bring a valid, unexpired card, such as a driver's licence or a passport.
The casino does not publish a dress code.
On the floor
The gaming page describes a large slot floor, with denominations from 1¢ to $5. The machine games it lists include video poker, video blackjack, roulette and keno.
The poker room is described as a Vegas-style room focused on limit Texas Hold'em and limit Omaha, with both high-limit and low-limit hold'em. For the waiting list, the gaming page gives the poker room line, 403-206-0252.
There is also off-track betting with a racing theatre. The official site does not set out a line-up of live table games, so it is worth asking at the venue for what is running on the day.
The casino's own site does not name a loyalty program. Winner's Edge is AGLC's player rewards program, and its program site describes it as working at casinos throughout Alberta. Members pick up their card at Guest Services with government ID.
Food and extras
The casino's about page lists three eateries, covering pub food, buffets and Asian cuisine. The current outlet names and their hours are not published there, so check with the venue before planning a meal around a visit.
The same page lists live music on Friday and Saturday nights, featuring local bands, and a Yuk Yuk's Comedy Club. Both fall outside a daytime visit. Schedules sit under the Live Bands section of the official site.
Getting there
Without a car, the nearest blaze on the trail is Victoria Park / Stampede CTrain station. The venue describes it as a stone's throw away, about a block. It does not publish a distance in metres. Station maps are on Calgary Transit, and the without a car page gathers transit notes for every venue in this guide.
By car, the homepage describes secure, air-conditioned underground parking. The venue's own social page calls it free, heated underground parking. Rates, height limits, accessible stalls and EV charging are not published.
The venue does not post accessibility details either. Visitors with specific needs may wish to ask ahead.
